GOLA DELL’INFERNACCIO – EREMO DI SAN LEONARDO – SORGENTE DEL TENNA

The “Gola dell’Infernaccio” is in the heart of Sibillini Mountains National Park, it is really easy to reach. During your excursion you will walk along the Tenna River, the river reach ours agriturism passing through little waterfall, it actives the old stone mill.

The Eremo di San Leonardo is located 30 min walking from the “Gola dell’Infernaccio”, wonderful church, rebuild by father Pietro from old Gothic ruin, he was part of Capuccini’s order, he retire himself to hermitic life in 1971.

EXCURSION

PILATO LAKE – VETTORE MOUNTAIN

Pilato lake is located on Vettore mountain, inside sibillini National Park, at 1941 m above sea level. To arrive there you can start from Foce, little part of Montemonaco common. Then you have to walk for more than two hours along Gardosa plateau. At the end you have to cross woods, walking along a steep way. Then at the end of a long way made of steep switchback, you will reach the hill that create the valley where Pilato lake is located.

SIBILLA MOUNTAIN – GROTTA DELLA SIBILLA

Sibilla Mountain and “Grotta della Sibilla” are two magnificent natural oasis were fairy tail and witched story dwell in, they have been studied in every part of Europe, they still remain in people fantasy as location for this kind of tale.

Following the suggested link you can find all the information for this excursion, both if you are interested in mountainbike excursion or walking excursion, our agriturismo is located on this ring, so it can be both as starting point and finish for your journey, we also suggest to visit “Gola dell’Infernaccio” and “Eremo di San Leonardo, because they are not visible from the ring.
